Rawson Falls Walk Project
In 2023, Environment Restoration Solutions undertook extensive trail restoration works on the Rawson Falls Walk, a Grade 5 walking track in Boorgana National Park.
Trail restoration at Rawson Falls Walk
The project aimed to repair severe erosion damage caused by natural wear and environmental conditions, ensuring the trail’s safety, accessibility, and ecological sustainability.
Key restoration efforts included stabilising eroded sections of the track, installing erosion control measures such as retaining walls and sustainable drainage systems, and enhancing signage to improve visitor navigation and safety. Given the rugged terrain and lack of machinery access, all work was performed manually using site-sourced materials, maintaining the natural character of the trail and minimising environmental impact.
These comprehensive efforts revitalised the Rawson Falls Walk, offering visitors a safer and more enjoyable experience while safeguarding the surrounding ecosystem. By combining sustainable practices with a commitment to preservation, the project ensures this iconic trail can be appreciated by future generations.
